08:05 AM ET 04.15 | Da'Quan Bowers won't be in New York City the weekend of April 28. The agent for [Bowers] says the former Clemson All-American will watch the NFL draft from his home in Bamberg instead of going to New York. Joe Flanagan said in an email Thursday that Bowers has said since January he wanted to share the moment with his family and friends and has never wavered from that stance. ... Bowers is a defensive end who had been projected as a high first-round selection. Bowers said at Clemson in April that he had no qualms about attending the NFL draft, but had long thought he wanted to his hometown to take part in the experience. Bowers led the country last year with 15.5 sacks and won the Nagurski and Hendricks awards.
