Wild facing tough decision

Brian Rolston or Pavol Demitra? Demitra or Rolston? Both? Or neither? In just a few months, the Wild will have this complicated decision to make. In the salary cap world, all teams must be excellent forecasters, looking ahead by two, three, four, even five years.

Rolston has been marinating in the Wild's trap system for so long that he can play it to perfection without even thinking about it. Pavol Demitra is a free skating, creative player who doesn't fit in very well into Lemaire's nightmarish, bore me to tears, trapping hockey. I think they'll keep Rolston. (DC)

Agreed..., Rolston stays and Demitra goes somewhere where his shot and speed can be appreciated. Never should've left St. Louis!

Pavol has been with how many teams so far...6 in 14 years (mostly the Blues). He has been pretty consistant on scoring, but Rolston has been the face of the Wild for a long time now.

Pavol gets hurt every year, and I agree with DCruiser, Rolston is a better fit in their system.

yeah, I really don't see how this is that hard of a decision, especially since the fans there continue to support the team even WITH the team playing the trap. No need to try to get the team scoring, like they are trying to do in New Jersey in hopes of getting fans out to the games, when they are filling the barn anyway. Dumb article, anybody who knows hockey at all would know that this is a no-brainer for the power trust in Minnesota
