10:56 AM ET 04.16 | Other mixed martial arts promotions don't rate as rivals in the Ultimate Fighting Championship's eyes. "It's hilarious to me that when all the media and the fans talk about ... Strikeforce and Affliction and IFL and all these other guys that were out there," UFC President Dana White says. "My competition is the NFL. My competition is Major League Baseball. My competition is these other networks."

The Jerry Jones of MMA has spoken!! I would advise the others to listen!!

The day MMA competes with the NFL, MLB and NBA is the day that the average American enjoys watching a guy get knocked to the ground, then jumped on and continued getting pounded. And they will also have to enjoy watching someone get choked.

White is in a cocoon.

Sorry folks,I have no sites to SPAM you with.
Anyway,
"My competition is the NFL. My competition is Major League Baseball. My competition is these other networks."
Hey Dana, ever heard of a guy named Lorenzo Fertitta?
He claims to be the UFC's chairman and chief executive officer.
And by saying "other networks",are you claiming that you have your own?
Ah well,Carnival Barker has always been an honest living.Maybe not ethical, but honest.

the day you become more evolved and at least learn the rules of MMA< you will see that your ignorant post are exactly the people we do not look to follow the sport.
The uneducated see violence where there's an art.

Dana might be aiming high... you you are on the sub-levels of human beings., we don't need you.

MMA won't get as big as White wants until it is rid of performance enhancing drugs which is running rampant in the sport.

UFC will need to change their model if they hope to compete with the big boys. I used to be a huge fan, but can't (and won't) keep up with their lame cards every 2-3 weeks, and paying $10 extra to view it in HD.

They need to do more mega cards, stack it big names, title fights etc... and maybe I'll come back.

April 18, 2011  07:21 PM ET

This is not a sport it is a bar fight with cameras!

April 19, 2011  10:43 AM ET

If the other MMA leagues got together and merged they might pose a threat to UFC but when each league has one or two quality fighters they don't get the exposure like they do on UFC.

Was Dana White being choked out by Joe Rogan and halfway uncounsious when he blurted this out of his mouth????????????????????

April 19, 2011  02:58 PM ET

MMA will never be as big as the NFL....EVER!!! and if for some reason it was, then Dana White would have to pay his fighters as much as NFL players, which would make his greedy head explode if he ever had to do....

dana you will never be competition for the NFL,NBA ,MLB and NHL. You might give boxing a run but until you put on fights on ESPN or HBO that are for some titles and stop charging 50 bucks for fights its never going to happen because ESPN and HBO put on some good title fights FOR THE PRICE OF YOUR 1/5 THE PRICE ! and one other thing get your fighters to stand up more if they are not doing anything on the floor for 30 seconds then get them up !

Dana is delusional. NFL can make money without PPV. Baseball makes money without PPV. Those sports are so big we watch college level.

UFC is a diversion. I don't even know 1/4 of the chumps competing and I can name every baseball team, and I hate baseball.
