08:05 AM ET 04.18 | Some reports suggest that Washington is in the market to move up in the draft. I hear it's the exact opposite. According to a league source, the Redskins are looking to trade down in the first round with the idea they will draft either Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder or TCU quarterback Andy Dalton. The Redskins, who pick 10th overall, would like to get a second-round pick from a team in exchange for moving back to their spot in the first round. They could then use their two second-round picks to bolster the defense. ... The X-Factor here would be if Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert were to fall to them at the 10th spot. The Redskins would likely take him there, rather than trading back.

How about you change your face...

Too bad they can't trade up and draft a new owner.

"Redskins prefer to move down."

Well, that does explain their won-lost record over the last few years.

April 18, 2011  08:31 AM ET

A QB and a whole lot of other draft pick would be a really good thing for the Skins hopefully they can get rid of the defensives slug that TN stuck them with a few years ago.

Depending on who is there a Redskins-New England could work.

Redskins fans take heart. This is a sound strategy for building the team over the long-term. Much better than throwing money at old and suspect free agents.

Luckily for Dan Snyder he can't throw money at people right now

I'm not sure the 10 spot is worth both a first and a second rounder. and who would the trading partner be? this is wishful thinking by the redskins.

If the Redskins prefer to move down, all I can say is

...

.....

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!!

Shananhan won't trade to get a QB with a later pick. If he doesn't win next year, he's gone. Unless he wants to take a huge buyout.

April 18, 2011  10:27 AM ET

When you really want a particular guy, take him. If you trade down, you run the risk of having him go higher than than you thought. Then you're stuck with lower picks and the guy you really wanted is gone.

A team like the Skins with serious needs should fill those needs instead of playing games on Draft Day. Does anyone think Shanny and Danny are going to out-fox the Man From The Hood?

10 days 8 hours + till the draft....hurry.....please

Wonder if they will give the new QB a different OC every year as part of the contract?
