08:19 AM ET 04.18 | James Franklin said he hasn't taken over the No. 1 spot at Missouri, but Tyler Gabbert didn't help himself much over the weekend. The starting position, Franklin said as he looked toward fall camp, is "not mine, even though I'm there right now." If that was the case entering Saturday's glorified scrimmage, Franklin figures to wield the upper hand over redshirt freshman Tyler Gabbert when Gary Pinkel and his staff evaluate the 15-session spring and soon release the depth chart MU will take into fall camp. With Franklin and Gabbert alternately leading the No. 1 offense vs. the No. 2 defense and vice versa, Franklin completed 13-of-21 passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions and Gabbert hit 8-of-22 for 48 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.

Sorry I was out milking my cat!

K-Dawg...you around? What is your take on Dylan Favre? Looked good at scrimmage...even Mullen had some good words about him.

Relf will still be the QB this year, but I'm liking this Favre, for now.....sounds like he has his head on straight is coachable.....says a lot for a kid who was as successful in HS as he was..

I'm slow today. I just finished giving the cows their catnip.

Haha.... I mean he is an ok QB...I just dont see him as a franchise QB.... And to pick him Top 5 would be krazy...I like him better than Locker though

Yeah all QBs in this draft need more development. I wouldn't mind Jerry reaching for Mallet though because there is so much defensive talent in this draft.

Funny thing about the draft ... it's so unpredictable. If you're in dire need of a OL, but you have 2 DL's with expiring contracts, you'll probably pick a DL first.

Where did Chase Daniels go in the draft?

lol...I think Pinkel is a good coach and Mizzou has had a lot more success than they enjoyed in all the years before he came along but their QB's don't seem like the NFL prototype. Brad Smith is a great athlete, in the VY or TP mode but only gets used in the Wildcat on Sundays. I think Gabbert will get destroyed in the NFL.
