08:20 AM ET 04.19 | Bob Murray could hold his tongue no more. The Ducks' general manager went on the offensive Monday, accusing the Predators of repeatedly diving and embellishing other plays in order to get calls from the referees. ... "It's become a tactic," he told the Register, speaking at the team's hotel. "I've watched enough. First things first. We have to have less passengers. We have too many passengers right now. But when you're playing a game and [there's] a constant stream to the penalty box because these guys are diving left and right ... we have to start diving. I'd never thought I'd say this to my hockey team. We've got to start diving because it's working. It is working. They're getting power plays because of the diving. I can go through the list of players. You already know who they are."

Duck dives...cool. He should also be telling them to grow duck tails for the playoffs too...Mind you all of this would be fway funniers if it was being said by Bryan Murray and not Bob...

"The Predators are repeatedly diving" Translation: We can't keep our sticks under control so I'm going to blame the other team for falling down when they get tripped or cross checked and when they snap their heads back after they get a high stick.

Not all diving is bad. I did some "diving" on my honeymoon last month.

Bob, in case you haven't noticed ... it's the playoffs, Bob! And ... the playoffs are all about tactics. Whatever works. Just win, baby!

What happened to the good old days when the GM always took the high road and would occassionally have to real in a coach for "beaking off" ???? Duc off Bob.

Not a good idea. When ducks dive a certain part of their anatomy is sticking way up. O.K. I don't know how to end this.

Refs are a simple lot. Usually blind and go by feel or crowd noise...

So why don't they just go back to the old Duck ways, cream 'em into the boards (legal or not) and then you won't have to worry about them "diving."

I am 100% in favour of this suggestion.

If you are going to get penalized anway, make it a good one instead of the chicken crap they are calling these days.

What do they call them in soccer? A professional foul?

2 minutes is 2 minutes...

I'd like to see some better ref calls this year. The Linesmen are getting way to out of control with throwing guys out of face-offs.

Because the Ducks no longer have a team with "proper levels of pugnacity, testosterone, truculence and belligerence."
That's why Santa.
