08:06 AM ET 04.19 | Rick Adelman is out, and some are wondering whether past is prologue. In each of the Rockets' previous coaching hires, they went with proven coaches -- Adelman and Jeff Van Gundy -- who had sat out the previous seasons. But the present search will immediately include assistant coaches. Rockets assistants Elston Turner and Jack Sikma and former Rockets player Mario Elie, who has been an assistant with the Kings, Warriors and Spurs, will interview for the position, according to a person with knowledge of the process.

I'm with you 100% on that one. I can't believe they are letting Adelman go. He wasn't setting the world on fire, but he is certainly a good coach.

Fired the wrong man. Morey has churned that lineup for three years and produced nothing but the NBA's largest collection of quality small forwards. If Alexander wanted to win as badly as the loving press would have you believe he would have cast Morey adrift a year ago.

I've never been able to wrap my head around the idea of firing a coach when a team isn't set up to win. Houston isn't going anywhere--it doesn't matter who's holding the clipboard.
