08:12 AM ET 04.19 | A no-hitter or a hole-in-one ... Josh Johnson may have the stuff for both. Johnson, who towers on the mound at 6-foot-7, is not ready to abandon baseball, not when he's in the second year of a four-year contract, has flirted with no-hitters in two of his three starts this season and is coming off a season in which he led the National League with a 2.30 ERA. But, when asked how often he has thought about joining the PGA Tour one day -- after his baseball career is over -- he replied, "All the time." ... Johnson said his drives average 300 to 310 yards, or about 20 yards longer than the typical pro. He moved to Las Vegas last offseason for one reason: the golf.

Guarantee you this guy has NO clue what it takes to make it on the tour. Stick with baseball. You will just embarass yourself ala Jerry Rice.

Josh....just get traded to the Yankees, win your WS ring and then go onto the PGA.

If you hit a 300 foot drive into the woods and a tree falls does anyone hear it?

So the reason they say he can play on the Tour is because he can drive 300+? Being on the PGA means being able to play well from inside 100 yards.

I'm not surprised that he can consider being a pro golfer some day. I must say however, that I was not aware that the golfing is better in Las Vegas than it is in Florida. Seems like you'd get a greater variety of courses in Florida so you can develop your game more completely.

We have over 1250 golf courses in Florida - I think there might have been other reasons that Johnson moved to Las Vegas...

You've got that right! You've got to master the short game.

Maybe he didn't like playing at sea level and needed the light air in Vegas to hit 300 yards?

At 6' 7" he must have one hell of a loop in that swing. 6' 3" is about the max height for anyone aspiring to be halfway decent on the tour.
