08:07 AM ET 04.19 | Bryan Colangelo took the occasion of his end-of-season press conference to put one of his best players on notice. Colangelo referred to Andrea Bargnani, the club's starting center, as "the enigma of enigmas, to you and many." ... Colangelo's Monday message, coming as it did with his contract set to expire and his franchise in a midst of a painful rebuilding process, went something like this: From this day forward, Bargnani, the jump-shooting 7-footer who was once the franchise's coddled sacred cow, is going to be held accountable along with the rest of the replaceable schleps. And if he doesn't come to grips with defensive desire? Colangelo spent Monday pointing out, among many things, that no Raptor is untradeable.

As a GM if your guy is tradable why air it out to drive down his value? I guess there will always be mediocre teams out there...

UH? The guy did average like 21 and 5.....He will never be a banger but he can def score the ball....I think poor mans Dirk....I think Evans was a perfect compliment for him bc he rebounded and played tough defense....

Bargnani for Boris Diaw????

Agree....the guy is clearly not a center, yet was forced to play there

He's a TALL sf

Yuck....
What is the fascination with diaw?
Why is he always talked about in trades? I've never been impressed with that guy, yet you always hear gms talking about the guy

Bargnani needs to learn how play under the basket....he has the tools, but doesn't know how to utilize his height to his advantage....seven footers should never be always hanging out at the three point line.

The bobcats wanna unload him.
And clearly the raptors will trade Bargnani.
I don't see any other team that would trade with Toronto.

Him for Amare straight up.

So trade him then... Dont think they will get much in return though

I think he would make a good sixth man for a Championship caliber team. Put him in a Tony Kukoc like role and he can give you scoring off the bench.

Bargnani has been servicable....Kwame Brown has been wasteful

April 19, 2011  09:18 AM ET

Future 6th man of the year somewhere. Maybe Phil can turn him into the next Toni Kukoc?

Hopefully they can get rid of Calderon in the process as well, both these players as effective as they are really are holding the Raptors back as a whole and would be solid role players on better teams.
