The beating goes on for Howard

08:06 AM ET 04.20 | Hack-a-Dwight may be the new Hack-a-Shaq game. In 46 minutes Saturday night, Atlanta fouled Howard 19 times, resulting in 22 free throws. And we're not talking hand-checks or negligible body contact on shots or post-ups. Those fouls were bear hugs and shoulder blocks, elbows to the ribs and arm locks under the basket -- things you'd expect to see in a UFC fight before a basketball game -- and those are merely the ones that got called. The Hawks don't exactly keep their plan for defending Howard under wraps, either. Atlanta center Jason Collins came right out Sunday and told reporters his plan of attack when facing Orlando's dominant center. "Dwight's got to know [that] every time he's going across the lane or he's running in transition, he's going to get hit," Collins said.

He's huge what other options does anyone have other than to hack him good. If you just slap him on the wrist, he's obviously getting an "And 1"

One solution to the H-A-H is to get your twelfth man off the bench to go in the game and just foul the hell out of Joe Johnson a few straight possessions and maybe they will get the message....

Fouls where they don't go for the ball and just hug him should be flagrant fouls, 2 shots and the ball. This mess has to stop.

Anybody that can go 48 mins of pure banging is a true warrior. 1 down 3 to go.

Whatever it takes mane, whatever it takes.

Ala Randy Brown and Derek Harper in the 94 playoffs........The magic need to goon it up a bit .....Have arenas undercut someone , as his worth as a player stinks

Yeah...I dont want anything just flat out dirty where a player could get hurt but someone to foul the hell out of the other teams best player a few times just to send the message....

M3at what did you think of the Knicks game?

The point is, is that he is so big and imposing , that a lot of contact that gets called against other players , is sometimes overlooked for dwight by the reffs

Relates zero to my previous point, everyone is aware that refs find it hard to call fouls when gorillas like Dwight are involved. Similar to shaq back in the day. I was making a different point that if he doesn't get hacked good, he's so powerful that he'll still get to the rim.

Get out of here with that Jr HS Girls team BS. Wrapping a guy up to keep him from shooting or getting the easy basket is a basic play that has been around since BB began. Sending a poor FT shooter to the line is an effective Defensive move.

If Howard wants to stop that BS maybe he should learn to shoot FT's with some reasonable accuracy.

Boston is looking mighty weak these days.

I can't believe Roger Mason used to be a Spur, better yet I can't believe he isn't in the D-League. That joker had a straight line to the basket and missed the lay up. Wow!

Dantoni looked like he aged 15 years in a 3 minute span. For a brief moment, I actually felt sorry for him. What happened to Fields did his back go out too?

Amare should have took a pain shot and got his **** back out there and helped. I mean he could have at least limped back out the tunnel or something. He will have all summer to heal.

I wonder if Fan nation is going to start calling him a quitter like they did Lebron.
