08:26 AM ET 04.21 | Craig MacTavish wants back in the coaching game. MacTavish intends on coaching next season, either in the NHL or elsewhere. With Ottawa, Minnesota, Dallas, New Jersey and Florida all in the market for head coaches, it's likely MacTavish will draw interest from one or more of the teams currently piecing together their candidates list. If not, MacTavish says he will consider some of the other options that may come his way, including the KHL and St. Petersburg -- where the wealthy franchise is owned and operated by Russian mogul Alexander Medvedev. MacTavish spent last weekend in Russia watching the KHL and meeting with Medvedev and admits he agreed to the adventure to satisfy his curiosity about the quality of hockey and Russian way of life.

Yawn. Just another day at the rink. Just kidding of course. It was an interesting night to say the least.

I wouldn't have given a nickel for the Caps chances at the end of two, Miller was outstanding, the Ducks/Preds series is fun to watch. It's all good. I agree with you that the Bruins/Habs game is going to be fun to watch. It'll also be interesting to see what happens in Phoenix. Personally I'd like to see Winnipeg get 'em back.

Drop the puck!

Yup ! his commentary always comes off like a grade 8 science teacher-tired ,monotone, with an underlying desperation

C'mon HC. I sort of liked grade 8 science. The sense of wonder when I found out the earth wasn't flat! (It isn't is it)?

By grade 8 the girls were now far more interesting then the scientific classification system so yes it was a new sense of "wonder" for sure..As for flat earth- go to anywhere in central or southern Saskatchewan and you would argue real hard that it is !

Anyone think that Richards will get a suspension for the "incidental contact" last night?

That was a good oldtime Gordie elbow if I ever saw one. Beauty!

As for a suspension BF, it all depends on Coly's neighbour's opinions. That's as good as a guess as any for the way they're handed out.

I like MacT. A lot. He's less irritating than many on the tube, but he'll never be a great speaker.

Kerry Fraser was on a sports radio show this morning and he basically said the 5-minute penalty was excessive. Fraser said he would have only given him 2 as he was basically defending himself from a hit. Doubt he gets suspended.

Me too. He's not the most exciting, but his commentary is almost always dead on. He's a good counterpoint to many of the other fools paraded onto that show. I mean, he essentially called that SJ comeback the other night - that's pretty macho.

He's right. Owen Nolan used to pull that stunt serially. And people celebrated him for it.

Yzerman said it best last night and I paraphrase "The league has changed. Now you get suspended almost automatically for something that was a 2 minute penalty not long ago."

Like I said yesterday, if you are going to get 2 minutes for sweet frig all, make them count.

I like day old toast too, especially on top of a nice bowl of home made soup as croutons..

I don't mind his commentary. 100% better than some of the so called experts.
