The Ravens might be saying goodbye to some veterans, such as quarterback Steve McNair, offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden, center Mike Flynn, wide receiver Derrick Mason, cornerback Samari Rolle and defensive tackle Trevor Pryce. Not all are playing poorly, but it's about the money.

and them playing poorly, or not at all. These guys need to flip this team over the next couploe years, before they have to do a complete re-build. This will be the smartest move the Ravens have made in years

November 21, 2007  09:02 AM ET

You have too. At this point they are old and often injured. It has been really bad for Ravens fans for a while now. These guys were Stars a couple of years ago, but now the game has passed them by. They should try to trade as many as possible for draft picks but I dont know if they will get much in return.

Best of luck in Rebuilding. It is a long and hard process. I should know. The Cowboys were on a BAD Streak for a LOOOOONNNNGGGG time.

Big Jon, come on down to ATL.... one of our many needs is a proven olineman

November 21, 2007  09:15 AM ET

at somepoint all teams have to rebuild. if the ravens were smart, they'd try to make a few trades in the off season. just not sure what vets they have to give away that anyone would want. needless to say the ravens shouldn't unload their young talent.

McGahee, Heap, Suggs and the ravens entire secondary needs to stay. anything else should be up for grabs.

Ravens surprised the heck out of me this year. I thought for certain they'd be in the race at the top of the AFC. Guess that goes to show how much I know.

November 21, 2007  09:54 AM ET

Jon Ogden is nearing retirement. I doubt he plays anywhere next season.

November 21, 2007  11:05 AM ET

Clean house???
I think they need to blow it up, or burn it down...next years Rams

November 21, 2007  11:13 AM ET

I think they have to start somewhere, but rebuilding isn't easy. Spaul is right. This could very easily become the re-incarnation of the Rams. From penthouse to outhouse.

November 21, 2007  12:11 PM ET

How about the coach...he should go too

November 21, 2007  12:55 PM ET

Get rid of Ray Lewis. Hes washed up. Brian Urlacher is next. Maybe they can oin Warren Sapp in Oakland

November 21, 2007  01:05 PM ET

So snake, you don't think Urlacher has played well for the Ravens?
Maybe if he changed out of his Bears uniform, he'd improve?

November 21, 2007  04:07 PM ET

There goes spaul again, coming out of the woodwork to rip on the Ravens since he has nothing else to do on this site at all ever. If he would take off his blinders/fav. team colored glasses he would see that the ravens don't need to be blown up, they just need some guys gone and i don't mean just players, get me ?

November 21, 2007  07:50 PM ET

I got you.

November 21, 2007  10:22 PM ET

Strangely enough I agree that Lewis should go as well.

The Ravens are a very average bunch in general. Especially on offense.

Letting their big young D stud go to the Pats didn't help them on that side of the ball either.

And I really do think Billick should join the Exodus. The guy has displayed zero.

November 22, 2007  01:17 AM ET

Excellent. Now the Pats can get Ogden to give them the best OL in football.

November 22, 2007  08:20 AM ET

It's better to start at the top of the food chain (ie, Brian Billick), Boller was way overdue to get terminated, and the line should've been revamped yrs. ago

November 22, 2007  11:52 AM ET

Always had the feeling Billick had more ego than is good for a coach. Not sure he would ever be willing to admit he has not done a good job with the offense and personel decisions the last few years. Do not think the owners would fire him either right now. Looks like more of the same in the future to me, maybe steps backwards.

November 22, 2007  02:20 PM ET

i wouldent mind having ogden in sf...i dont know how long him and larry allen would hold up though lol! couldent do any worse though

November 22, 2007  04:32 PM ET

The people that say Ray Lewis is washed up must not have seen his performance last week 16 total tackles 12 solo an INT and a FR. He still has a couple good years.

I saw it. So what? He's still a shadow of his former self who every now and then has a great game.
