08:20 AM ET 04.23 | Coming off a 14-2 season it wouldn't be outlandish if the Patriots, armed with six picks in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft, used one of them to bring aboard Brady's air apparent. The team has taken a closer look at the top quarterbacks in the last two drafts, bringing in Tim Tebow last year and Jake Locker and Ryan Mallett this season for visits to Fort Foxborough. Patriots director of college scouting Jon Robinson said on the team's website that quarterback is among the strengths of this year's draft, which starts Thursday night with the first round.

Pondering his back up is closer to the truth.

Only the lack of free agancy makes quaterback the strength of this draft!

A few years ago Tom Brady made a comment that he'd like to play into his early 40s. But I think that was before Bernard Pollard broke his leg.

There is nothing about the QB position that resembles "strong" in this draft.

The Hoodie is good, but I don't think good enough to find a "Brady quality QB" in this draft.

Excellent point. Pats, by signaling that they just might draft a QB themselves, are furthering driving up the asking price on picks 28 and 33.

I don't care how much or little a QB is hit, there's just a point where it goes south very quickly. They'd better be prepared for that.

Well, it was Earth Day yesterday. I guess the interns are still focusing on recycling.

Maybe they'd be satisfied with a "Cassel-quality QB" instead...

Never can tell, was there anyone else besides BB who thought he might turn out to be a "Brady-quality" QB in the first place? He obviously saw things in Brady that no one else did. Ditto for Cassell. Who knows, Brian Hoyer might turn out to be "The One" after all.

Quarterbacks are the weakest part of this draft. NE is blowing smoke.

Actually that was more luck than good scouting as they passed on him picking instead J.R. Redmond Greg Randle Dave Stachelski Jeff Marriott & 12 picks before him the immortal Antwan Harris this wasn't skill it was pure luck at that time in the draft if your picking a QB you are looking for someone that has some down the road potential to be a good back-up or an extra arm for training camp
