Get a pork chop, stick him in a Sox uniform.

It was a dumb trade when they made it and it is dumb now. Is anyone really surprised?

On this team, you just need a good defensive catcher, not Mike Piazza. Bengie Molina would do nicely, and he is available.

Problem is, he is not good defensively.

Boston please, please, please trade for Pudge. I've been ready to see him traded/cut from the Nats roster since the season began, and now that Ramos has shown he can hit at the bigs it's time for Pudge to go.

This insight has been brought to you by no less of an authority on all things Red Sox than the Chicago Tribune. I guess they have not finalized the 2011 version of the Cubs epitaph quite yet.

Its funny, cause theo always gets a pass when he makes bad deals, And he's made ALOT of themLackey, crawford, salty, cameron, drew, that's alot of $ poorly spent, yet theo is considered a genius?

First of all, the jury is still out on Crawford and LAckey. And they didn't give up anything but low level minor leaguers for Salty.

I mean crawford, ok, I guess its still early, but you paid 17 mil for a guy that has meh power and can steal bases, and has never been clutchLackey? You paid big $ for a #4 starter

But that's just it, who cares what John Henry paid for them. It's not my money. If it makes them a better team, even if just a little, it's worth it in my eyes.

Crawford? Your basing that signing on 3 weeks of the season? See how the whole season works out before knocking Crawford. As far as the others you mention all because they didn't work out as you expected doesn't mean they didn't when the Sox signed them. Any fan knows that not every player will live up to the stats they were signed for as any Yankee fan who has seen AJ Burnett pitch the last two years.

Dont get me wrong, if you have the $......enjoyMy point was that theo never seems to get any flack for bad signs, he's like the teflon do

That's not true if you read the local media but lets face it, he gets as much flack as Cashman does. I doubt either would survive if they didn't have blank checks to deal with.

It's still odd for a Yankee fan to bring up money when his team has records for payroll. Does it matter what the Sox paid for Lackey or what the Yankees paid for AJ Burnett? It's not your money and you have often posted do whatever it takes to get this or that guy for the Yankees.

They may want to consider making an offer for Ramon Hernandez of the Reds because that Mesarosco kid is rising quickly through the minors faster than the Reds thought.

Molina doesn't have his brother Yadi's arm, but he calls a good game and does the little things. He is better than some catchers in the bigs now, and he has some pop in his bat. They could do worse, and wouldn't have to give up anything.
