Butler may return for Mavs playoffs

08:24 AM ET 04.24 | Caron Butler has not been cleared for contact, but he appears to have a shot to contribute to the Dallas Mavericks if they reach the second round. The next step will be getting cleared for contact work, which could happen in the next week or two. Butler has maintained that he would be ready to help the Mavericks by the second round of the playoffs. It's looking as if he might make good on that pledge.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my hands for being able to make my 1000th post. All which have been sports related and not for the sake of posting just to accumulate posts like someone I will not mention because then it would be a "personal" attack. Lord knows once the monitors put the evil eye on you they will take you down faster than Brandon Marshalls wife. But...I have been bad at times and have deserved a spanking they gave me (but only one was deserving). Without my hands and the monitors forgiveness this milestone would not have been possible.....and.....yeah Caron...you better get healthy soon!

The second round?? Brandon Roy may have ripped the heart out of the Mavs last night. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if there is no second round. Butler would then be given plenty of time to come back 100%...in October.
