Meyer to Ohio State in 2011?

08:21 AM ET 04.26 | Beano Cook has as few clunkers in his world of predictions -- including predicting Ron Powlus would win two Heismans. That said, Beano could be onto something here. Jim Tressel is in trouble. He has already been suspended for the first five games of the 2011 season -- Ohio State was ready to dock him two games, but Tressel requested three more -- after failing to tell school officials he'd been given reason to believe his players had traded jerseys for tattoos. And Urban Meyer is, among other things, a native Ohioan. Born in Toledo. Grew up in Ashtabula. Played defensive back for the Cincinnati Bearcats. Started his coaching career at Ohio State. Has his master's from Ohio State. ... If Tressel does fall, there'd be no better choice as replacement.

Beano and Spam...looks like we will know by August! I don't think Mr. Burns I mean Gordon Gee will has the balls to fire Smithers the Vest!

I still can't believe Beano Cook still has a platform.

Only time will tell, I think he should. This will not be decided till either midpoint of this next season or towards the end. This is just them notifying them of the findings, then they have to respond to the charges by August, then the NCAA goes into meetings to decide punishment or order a show cause order of why they should not punish them, in other words it is a long ways off, but if they let him go sonner it could lessen the penalities that will be forthcoming, that is what TN did, it is what tOSU should do too IMHO.

How much less of a penalty?

Urban Meyer is not going to be the OSU coach in 2012 or any other year. Unless the NCAA makes it impossible for Tressell to do his job as HC, he will remain in that position. Meyer's "on-again-off-again Flanagan" action towards retiring will eliminate him from that possibility. If Tressell does go (and it will be his decision) Luke Fickell would likely be his replacement.

This is another repeat, so I helped them out and made it a new title. :-) Just kidding guys.

It's not cool the way comments can be altered in that fashion...

Gotta call BS! Tressel did not ASK for three more games. I don't believe this scumbag would do something like that after showing his real colors.

The Vest isn't going anywhere unless/until he starts going 7-5 and losing to Michigan.

Dont get my hopes up. Would love to see Meyer as the coach at OSU. I think he is waiting for the Notre Dame gig to open up.

To all our tOSU friends. Keep your chin up, you will get through this, and it will all work out for the best in the end. My humble thoughts and prayers are with you all during the duration of this trying time. Just keep your spirits up, please. tOSU is one of the great football programs in the country, you guys can still be proud of her.

ABSOLUTLY! You need to dump the liar and pick up Myer. :-) (I feel me some DR. Seuss coming on)
