08:07 AM ET 04.26 | Scottie Pippen knows a thing or six about titles, and the fact those rings were earned in a different era underscores a divide. "You don't give up layups in the playoffs," Pippen said. "You knock a guy down and you make them go to the foul line and earn it. ... And to me, it's an eye for an eye." Tom Thibodeau is counseling against that. "In this league, you can't do that," Taj Gibson said. "Nowadays, you look at the fines, the technicals being called. You can't afford to lose players late. Thibs has been telling us to play with aggression. Don't worry what the fans are saying. Just play our game." Pippen, though, wants to see Rose backed up by his teammates. "They've all got two legs and two arms," the six-time NBA champion said. "You've got Carlos Boozer out there who's spending fouls and a lot of his fouls are not needed at the time that he's giving them. Those could be hard fouls."

What did they expect from Carlos?

Pippen is right about one thing - if you are going to foul then foul them hard - none of that pitty-pat crap.

Oh man... Ghosttown isn't going to like that comment. Hard fouls are very dangerous and can leave a mark.

Guys should be tossed from the game for at least a week if it leaves a mark.

Tell Pippen to ask Xavier McDaniel about being "soft".

Pippen is a top 50 player, and even as a Knick fan, one of my favorite players ...EVER....but early on in his playoff career , was'nt he accused of being a little soft?

"a little soft"?

Did you not see the 1992 EC semi's versus the Knicks?

Or, the 1991 EC Finals versus Detroit?

He was more than a "little" soft... flat out punked by Rodman, Xavier, and a few other guys.

Eventually, he grew a pair.

Physical or psychological "mark"?

Both as far as Ghost is concerned... you get wrapped up and pushed to the floor and it can scar a guy for LIFE!

Yup, but the league has changed, now everyone is friends, barely anyone has the balls to actually whack someone

Not too mention the fact that someone might hit you back!

New era Pippen, try half the crap they did back in the day and you are looking at fines and suspensions. I get that he is saying be tough, but today's NBA has a very strict limit on that.
