Heat want Celtics for lunch

08:08 AM ET 04.28 | Taking a metaphor right through the final bell of the first round, LeBron James was asked how his breakfast -- with NBA playoff rounds serving as meals -- went. "It was good!" said James, smiling. "Now we're preparing for lunch." The thing is, this breakfast -- the essential meal that is supposed to get you started and give you energy moving forward -- didn't taste all that great for the Heat, did it? Leaves a little bit of indigestion, maybe? You have to be concerned that if it was this tough getting through breakfast, how on Earth will the Heat survive the big lunch about to be served up by Boston? Is Miami ready to defeat the Celtics? "We have no choice," said Dwyane Wade following this one. Yes, Miami wins the playoffs' first course, er, series 4-1 with Wednesday's 97-91 victory here, but only in one game did the Heat win with any comfort. Four-to-one sounds lopsided; this wasn't.

Well they get their wish starting Sunday....

April 28, 2011  08:11 AM ET

They had better be hungry... because they are gonna get a plateful.

April 28, 2011  08:11 AM ET

Yeah... the eggs went down kind of hard for me; especially the start of "finishing" last night. But, that will "pass" before lunch. Hahahahaha!!

On a more serious note: I am concerned for the Heat. I expected a lot more dominance in reaction to the previous game. It's this inconsistency which makes me bite my friggin' nails. At least Joel Anthony and Mario Chalmers are adding some stability. I guess Ilgauskas is fading. I'll take the win, but I am a bit disappointed in some of the execution. Maybe I really should give Philly just a bit more credit.

Oh and one more thing... please, please, PLEASE LeBron don't keep feeding the media with those comments. I still haven't forgiven Patrick Ewing for his guarantee.

Somebody should put a muzzle on this clown.

They are dam if they do dam if they don't. They won the series. Move on.

Other than OKC who I must now consider the favs out west.

The Heat is the only team in the east that looked good.

The C's sure didn't, playing nail biters with Melo all by himself. Nor did the Bulls.

Only the Static and Heat looked like title contenders so far.

After ending the season going just about 500. Four straight wins are good regardless of who u play. Time to see how well Spo can coach and if the Celtics are to old to win.

Heat had the best match up they could have possibly goten, and still dropped one and was very close in two ther ones. They did not have the lead at halftime for a few of them. Don't act like the Heat pulled a Magic v Hawks last year because they didn't.

The Spurs escaped being the 1st 1 seed put out by an 8 seed in 5 games.

All on a clutch shot from a guy that was glued to the bench by a HOF coach.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this wino is killing the Spurs. But at least he stop using the Turd Towers.

Now if we can only get him to bench Bonner the same way he did GNeal and then give half of RJ's minutes to GNeal we might just get this thing to game 7. But I won't hold my breathe thinking the wino will do anything smart, like bench Bonner, the human shooting cone.

"Cleveland has ended its championship drought. Browns running back Peyton Hillis will grace the cover of Madden NFL '12, the popular video game, after beating Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick in a vote by fans. Hillis received 66 percent of the one million votes cast to handily defeat Vick in the final."

There is a bright day in Cleveland. :)

I am pleased you agree your comment is non-sense....lol. Reason being, the Celtics, the team you just ragged on, are the only team so far that hasn't played in the last week or so; why?!?!?; because they SWEPT THEIR OPPONENT!...lol....Playoff basketball is about matchups and defense. It will not always be pretty, or a blowout, but a win is a win. In some way, shape, or form, ALL the teams have struggled a little bit.

I didn't see them struggling, they look like they were looking pass the sixers.

Spo was trying to get Z and Bibby in a groove. I understand what he was doing, to the casual bball fan like you, things looked hard, but they had that series in total control. Hell they could have went zone and watch the sixers crash and burn. But that was a good little scrimmage to get them in rhythm for the C's. They wanted to get their man to man defensive skillz up.

Oh don't worry you are about to see what I mean Sunday.

I hope you're right because there were PLENTY of times I wished they played zone to stop the Sixers. Allowing the penetration was puzzling.
