Sharks Boyle: 'I wasn't very good'

08:27 AM ET 04.28 | At least one Sharks player feels his game will need to improve in the second round. Defenseman Dan Boyle knows his play wasn't up to his own standards in the Los Angeles series and needs to improve against the Detroit Red Wings. "It wasn't very good at all. I felt real good Game 1 and never after that. It was a poor series," Boyle said Wednesday morning. "The good news is I get to turn the page on it and hopefully be better." He did register three assists while finishing a minus-1, but there were costly turnovers and mistakes along the way. ... Boyle said there was a risk in trying to get too analytical in what was going wrong. "I don't want to overthink it, which is something I do a lot," he said. "I wasn't very good and I'm thankful my teammates were, and now I'm looking to get my game back together."

I feel like Cartman waiting for the Wii. Let's drop the puck already!

I'm not trying to be a wise guy here or anything...but this sounds like the Sharks team's long time motto...

Tough to bet against Detroit.

It's ok Dan, go ahead and keep sucking. That sounds like something you should work to fix in the offseason. (these words of advice brought to you by the Hockeytown Feel Good Industries)

And McLellan looks like him.

GO WINGS GO

The Sharks won't lack motivation. Even after beating the Wings last year, Detroit is still like the big brother in this relationship - letting the little bro win once in a while, but putting the hammer down more often than not when it matters most.

Should be a great series. Too bad the 1st 2 games are in SJ and will play out late. Hopefully one of those games will be a Sat/Sun matinee.

Wings in 5.

Yep, so far the only tough (late) one is tomorrow. Overall the schedule works out pretty well. Though I have to leave for a hockey tourney Sat. morning, so staying up late and getting hammered probably isn't the best idea....but it's not the worst!!!

agree - but at least Boyle's name is on the Cup, so he gets the benefit of the doubt from me.

that - and I went to school with him

NHL linesmen take note...just drop the chiclet breaker and get on with the game.

A hockey tournament in late April, what is up with that? Where, what level, these are questions that need answering.

Sorry, I feel this will be unimpressive..."beer league", amateur, not good, a level Hank won't watch, whatever you want to call it. Playing 5 games Frid-Sun, so I'll be in some pain. But they're offering free beer!

Oh, and also quite impressive...in St. Joseph, MO! You know, play a few games, stop by and see where Jesse James was shot in the head...
