O'Brien still holds grudge against Vancouver

08:28 AM ET 04.28 | Former Canuck Shane O'Brien has a bit of revenge on his mind in advance of Nashville's second-round series. "Obviously I want to knock them out here," the outspoken O'Brien said. "If it was Vancouver or Detroit, you want to knock them out. I'd be lying if I said I don't want to knock them out a little bit more. Obviously I do." O'Brien, who played parts of two seasons with the Canucks before a preseason trade to the Predators, still has some pent-up emotions about his former team. After the trade he took some parting shots at Canucks coach Alain Vigneault, and he constantly praises Predators coach Barry Trotz in a lot of ways as an antithesis to Vigneault. "I know a lot of guys in that dressing room. I know a lot about ways you can get under their skin or get in their head a bit," O'Brien said. "They're going to try to do the same to us."

Nashville should have a pretty good shot at winning. I don't think the Nucks are allowed to win two playoff series in any one season, are they?

Not so sure there BF...The Nucks got a huge monkey off their back and may very well have gotten the boost of confidence they needed to play more like the Presidents trophy winners they are for an entire series...
Expect a good one though....I would guess Nashville has the edge tonight with the extra rest and the emotion spent by the Nucks...

Looking forward to this series. Nashville is playing well, & the Nucks shouldn't look past them, like the Flyers seem to be doing vs. Boston.

O'Brien may hold a grudge but he's about as smart as a potato. He's going to know those annoying green guys very well before the series is over.
Canuck eh?

Agree with this and expect a Preds win tonight, to be honest. Not a literal hangover, but an emotional hangover of sorts will still be with the Canucks tonight, in my opinion.
O'Brien was the only Pred to not get a point last round. Wasn't necessary. He and his team had better be ready for the Canucks though, the rest of us are depending on them to send this team to the golf course this year.
Could you imagine the Canucks beat the Preds and the Sharks somehow beat the Wings again? Sharks/Canucks Conference Final. They'd be competing to LOSE the games, haha.

Don't forget the Carrie Underwood factor! Is that who Fisher is married to? Whatever, that blonde chick that sings, that says he has a hoarder problem.

And maybe Washington/Boston in the East, ha. 4 teams that are better at losing this time of year than winning. It'll be a blooper reel of a Final Four, hahaha.

I think Vancouver spent too much physical and emotional energy last series. They are in for a let down here.
The Sisters wont be able to score with Weber and Suter all over them, so the Canucks need their secondary scoring to carry the load, and score on a great goalie in Rinnie. Kesler has looked good, but doesn't have a goal yet, so I like the Preds.
Preds in 6.

As much as Hank may or may not disagree, Booby Lou should be tougher to beat than Emery. This will be a good serious, with the Preds pounding back on them a bit.

And Gillis WAS fined for his comments. I thought he played around the edges enough.

he had plenty of bone head penalties, tho, that lead to goals.

And how exactly do you conclude that the Flyers are looking past the Bruins?

Huh? Kills penalties second half, plays regular minutes (15 per game average)
And his 14 minutes inpenalities is less than at least 2 Canucks (Lapiere and Glass) and only 2 minutes more than Oreskovich.
The O'Brien will be a key player.

This is Nashvilles first visit to the second round so they got a monkey off their back as well. I think this series will the lowest scoring of the bunch and will probably go 7. Hopefully with a Predator win.
