11:45 AM ET 05.01 | Harry Redknapp said the linesman Mike Cairns had "guessed wrong" and called for the introduction of goalline technology after Frank Lampard's equalizer was allowed to stand despite television replays suggesting his shot had failed to cross the line.

Well, the problem wasn't necessarily that there was no replay, the problem was that the referee made the call without being certain. Two goals that shouldn't have been. Oh well, I am used to disappointment by now. We were out of the CL running long ago when we only managed three points out of a possible 12 from the league bottomfeeders. If we don't qualify for Europa though, that would be quite a blow.

Not sure what it would take to get goal-line video -- maybe France getting knocked out of the next major tournament by something like this so Platini gets involved? Maybe Germany getting the shaft? If England, Italy, or the US get screwed - don't think the higherups would give a rip.

Feel a little bad for Spurs (well, as bad as a Fulham fan can feel for 'em), but like CCCPJ said - they blew their chances to remain in the UCL spot. Here's hoping Chelski does not come back to win the title...

Yesterday got over 170, so that might explain it.

Dunno.....maybe everybody's out enjoying the Spring weather?

I am completely against video review. Goal-line technology is a different matter though. Put a chip in the ball. If it crosses the line completely, light a lamp. Sidenote: Gomez is the WORST goalie in the premiere league...hands down the worst. I have been watching that worthless lump for over a year now and he makes more mistakes, lets in more weak goals, and throws more tantrums than any other keeper in the EPL. I am not against spurs, but I wouldn't even pick that guy to play on my team in a pick-up game. WTF is Tottenham thinking?

Well he isn't the worse. He is certainly prone to a major gaff and they seem to come in bunches, but for every huge error he makes several spectacular saves. I would rather have a keeper that makes all the saves he should though. I am thinking that 'Arry is probably loosing patience though so I wouldn't be surprised if we brought in another keeper over the summer.

Gomes has immense ability, but is terribly inconsistent.
At age 30y, I'm not sure I see him changing. Maybe. Some of the stops he makes are incredible, then other times....not so much.
Spurs problem will be the loss of UCL revenue means bringing in a high-priced keeper is not likely. Any money to strengthen the squad will likely be focused on other positions, and will likely come from the sale of a couple other players (Kranjcar, VDV).
Not sure if they could get a quality GK on the cheap, or have a young prospect - and would that really be an upgrade?

The real news today is that one of the first people to show up for the spontaneous crowd at the White House last night, with a huge American flag... was a dude wearing a blue USMNT jersey... Altidore #17 if you want to be exact. Nevermind that the Caps just finished playing a few blocks away.

In which case they will blow it all on midfielders of English descent.

What were some of the best games of this past weekend? I was super-busy on Saturday and Sunday, and ended up only catching the Fire game, and part of yesterday's Dallas v. LA match at the [sarcasm]jam-packed and loud[/sarcasm] Pizza The Hut Park.

I saw The Arse won, which will set up a pretty nice showdown between Chelski and ManUre next weekend. Damn- it's hard to believe that after all the issues Chelsea have had this year that they are in the running for the title.

May 2, 2011  10:13 AM ET

My guess is QATAR!!!, but, I'd absolutely love to see this guy suit up in MLS.

He was a big reason why I started to watch La Liga matches other than ones featuring Barca or Madrid.

Um, Bayern destroying Schalke 4-1 and leapfrogging Hannover back into third.

So this means TLVG lost his bet with Hudson, right?

It's a shame that game wasn't on Gol TV.... only on ESPN3 HD at 17:00.

Any reaction from the crowd towards Neuer?

It's the usual suspects at the top of the table.... but you have to like the season coming down to the end.

We already know the Bayern Ultras hate Neuer. But there were also numerous pro-Neuer banners in the stadium. The ultras will come around anyhow as soon as Neuer starts playing next season. The reaction of many Schalke fans has been much worse than the Bayern Ultras.
