It was a lot to give up for a WR. They overpaid to help an offense that didn't seem to need much help. Trading away all those picks left them with work to do in free agency during a time when free agency itself is up in the air.

Agreed... their defense largely overachieved last year by giving up a lot of yards but then redeeming themselves with very timely turnovers.

The Falcons are tough and if Jones is as advertised he will help them. But at some point they have to shut down the opponent and they have mortgaged their ability to build the defense.
