08:26 AM ET 05.03 | Losing clubs -- no matter the weather or the tax breaks -- aren't always an easy sell for players or coaches. If money wasn't an issue at all, the Panthers would seem to be a player when free agency kicks off, but it's hard to imagine a team that hasn't made even a single playoff appearance since 2000 luring the best and brightest on the free agent market. ... That doesn't mean the Panthers won't be active -- they'll have to be just to ice a team next season -- but there will be hurdles facing general manager Dale Tallon. Tallon's first order of business will be to hire a new coach after firing Peter DeBoer. A popular name making the rounds is that of Blackhawks assistant Mike Haviland, who Tallon is familiar with from his time in the Chicago organization.

Great game, lots of back and forth action. I did get a little tired of listening to the VS announcers felating Van Reimsdyke though. pretty freakin sickening how badly their Flyers bias was.

Oh man, the JVR slurping was out of control. He had a great game, but you'da thought he was the only guy on the ice...and that he was a blood relative of the announcers.

I don't know about blood relative of McGuire but probably some other body fluids.

I actually got uncomfortable at one point, it was such a lovefest. I think JVR coulda chopped a guy's head off last night and McGuire woulda justified it somehow.

Change of topic - any word on what happened to Bouch's hand? Couldn't have been TOO serious since he came back, but I AM curious.
