08:07 AM ET 05.03 | Rich Cho's first full offseason as GM is underway, and on Monday he met with the media to discuss the most pressing issues. Cho stopped short of guaranteeing the Blazers would extend a qualifying offer to Greg Oden, but labeled the one-time franchise center "a priority in the offseason." ... Cho was noncommittal regarding the status of Blazers starting point guard Andre Miller. The Blazers hold a $7.8 million team option for Miller and if they do not exercise it by June 29, the 12-year NBA veteran will become an unrestricted free agent. "Since the season just ended four days ago, we're going to start having meetings," Cho said. "The offseason is a time for evaluation and we'll go from there. We have until June 29."

While it is absolutely true that every player would enjoy playing in the greatest city ever to exist, it is also true that under the cap we cannot afford everyone. If only it weren't for that cap. Wow. We'd have everyone, just like we have all the money and prestige.

You probably would... and we would be out here in the sticks with our pockets hanging out.

All good man...I like seeing the Knicks relavent again. It's a better league that way...

Time to cut your losses, Bro.

This guy's only option is to try and collect 1 more pay cheque from some moron of a GM, sit on the bench and be in constant communication with his financial advisors via text messaging to make sure he doesn't end up like the Antoine Walkers of this world.

me too... maybe one day it will happen.

like i said the other day .... same T&R over ..... PORT keeps Miller, cause with Miller or with Out Miller PORT is over the CAP ...... and then Miller expiring contact is a trade piece next season if need be. ....

with Oden ....dam if you Sign / dam if you Do Not ..... offer an One Year deal .... cause IF you Do Not .... and Oden sign with a team and some now goes IR Free ... PORT GM looks like a Dumb-**** for letting Oden go .... just my Onion ....

Oden over Miller??? Miller stays on the court Oden couldnt even sit on a stationary bike. They would be getting the same kind of salary anyway...

In a bet.....the smart money is that Portland resigns Oden to a 2-year, low $$$$ contract that's made rich by generous bonuses for points scored, rebounds secured, rejections and, of course, games played.
