08:11 AM ET 05.03 | This is not quite what the A's wanted to hear. Left-hander Dallas Braden tested his injured shoulder by playing catch Monday, but the session did not go well. Braden was not around to address the media after the A's 5-4 victory over the Texas Rangers, but general manager Billy Beane spoke briefly. "It went so-so. 'So-so' would be kind," Beane said about Braden's throwing. "He's probably going to contact the doctor." Braden has been sidelined since leaving an April 16 start with a shoulder problem. He was examined April 20 by Dr. Lewis Yocum, who diagnosed him with inflammation but no structural damage. That was relatively good news, but it appears Braden isn't close to returning to the starting rotation.

**** him! Edwin Jackson has a great start and I only get 4 measly points out of him because of Liriano. Get your no hitters when my pitchers aren't facing you, you inconsiderate ****!
