Bulger as Dolphins No. 1 target

08:04 AM ET 05.04 | While the Dolphins reportedly had Carson Palmer as their No. 1 quarterback target, they may have to set their sights on a player such as Marc Bulger. Some people believe that year off served as a rehab of sorts for Bulger -- a time to heal and find himself again. He will be on the market. ... I believe if the Dolphins cannot get Palmer, Bulger will be their second target. Not anything anyone has whispered to me. Speculation. But it is logical. The Dolphins can sign Bulger for a year or two and offer him a chance to win a starting job. If he beats out Henne, so be it. If he doesn't, he sits. Arizona might be able to offer him the starting job outright. We'll see.

Mind blowing!

If you're talking about Bulger, show a Bulger pic, not a Carson Palmer pic, he's retired, supposedly.

If I'm Bulger... the QB market is such that I believe I can find a better situation than this one.

Interns love their crack!

Headline states that Bulger is the Dolphins #1 target, yet the article states that Palmer is the #1 target and Bulger will be #2. I know it's early interns but get it straight.

If he can't beat out Henne for the starting job he might as well hang 'em up.

Carson will be another one of those you know who coming out of retirement........Bengals need to trade him to Buffalo or just let him sit on the couch on Sundays and eat popcorn with T.O.

Bin Laden isn't dead. They brought him back for interrogation. They were gonna waterboard him, but then somebody got the idea to give him seasons tickets to the Bengals instead.

He'll crack by game 4.

Most of us use word and picture association together interns. In any event Bulger was a decent QB and could still be a servicable stop gap.

Welcome to the basement Miami.

Bulger will have more than 1 team asking for his services.

A sad but probably true comment on the state of the NFL this season.

Talk about a reach and sad at the same time.

Why would Marc Bulger be anybody's #1 choice? That's like saying near beer is my #1 drink choice...

Being shot in the face & dumped in the ocean might be preferable to that.

Kinda how I see it - I'd be happy with this guy as a backup for my team.

After watching decades of brilliance by the Bengals front office, they'll probably make him retire rather than trading him and getting some value in a weak year for free agent quarterbacks. Who needs a 2nd round pick, or a 2nd and another pick, who you're busy trying to build on your legacy of bad drafts, bad signings and bad trades? Revenge is much better. Go Bengals.

I just hope the Bengals hold Palmer to his words. Completely classless of him to go this route. If he wanted a trade, he should have gone behind closed doors and talked it through.
