08:03 AM ET 05.05 | It wasn't long after being drafted by the Cardinals that receiver DeMarco Sampson reportedly received a phone call from "an anonymous player" who invited him to Phoenix for workouts with Larry Fitzgerald. So Sampson caught a flight from San Diego and is staying at the home of Fitzgerald. ... "I'm not trying to blow him up or toot his horn," Sampson said. "I feel like ever since I met him, he's a real humble guy. He doesn't live the typical life of an athlete." Sampson and Fitzgerald were among about 20 quarterbacks and receivers who threw and caught during a session Wednesday morning. Many other Cardinals players were there, including quarterbacks John Skelton and Rich Bartel, and receivers Steve Breaston, and Stephen Williams. Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb, who lives in Chandler in the offseason, also threw, and Ravens tight end Todd Heap, a product of Arizona State, was among the receivers.

This means nothing unless Arizona plans to sign him at a later date.

McNabb can stay in Washington if he brings Fitzgerald back with him.

McNabb wants to see how a real receiver catches a ball.

He also wanted to sell how it feels when the receiver catches the balls from him too.

Word. The further he gets away from Shanahan the better for his career.

Wrong thread, but right comment.

I guess it would be fun to sit in the bleachers at a high school field with a cooler and watch these guys playing pickup. Sorta like when we were kids, and you'd bring your glove to the ballfield and hope the league guys were short a player, and they'd ask you to play.

And when they did, man, that what sports was all about, wasn't it?

This combo will never happen. Better bet that the Pats part with a few picks for Fitzgerald as they reloaded once again.
