08:04 AM ET 05.05 | While sports fans in Winnipeg wonder about an NHL franchise relocating, it seems fans in Toronto can wonder about an NFL franchise coming to town. Toronto councillor Doug Ford says he was told last week by NFL Canada that Toronto is "right up there on the list" of cities awaiting NFL teams. "They have to take care of the problem in Los Angeles first," said the candid Ford, who is the brother of Toronto mayor Rob Ford. "Two teams are kind of in play here: Jacksonville's number one; New Orleans is the other. So there's two teams. Once they take care of Los Angeles, we're going to fly over to New York, set up a meeting with [NFL commissioner Roger] Goodell and give him our pitch." One problem, Mr. Councillor. The city lacks an NFL-ready venue, according to Goodell.

If Canada gets an NFL team, it will be a sad day in the NFL. 100% American, they got the cheesy CFL.

A venue is no problem. Just put 'em on skates and use the local hockey rink.

Saints are going nowhere.

Jags on the other hand... #1 in the relocation parade (but not to L.A. - that's being reserved for the Bolts).

If the Jags move to Canada, they should change their name to the Winnipeg Eskimos.

But then, wouldn't they get confused with the Winnipeg Eskimos hockey team?

Winnipeg Jaguars doesn't have the same ring to it.

Based on the exchange rate, the Saints in Canada would be as good as the Browns are in the U.S.

Seriously, would there be an issue with NFL players with criminal records being allowed into Canada?

Not to mention cutting off beer sales after the 1st quarter.....to make up the difference in alcohol content.

So no home games against the Cowboys, Bungles or Raiders, then.

First time I've seen talk about the Saints relocating to Canada. Where does this BS come from?

May 5, 2011  08:31 AM ET

The old Leverage game being played by the owners. " If you tax payers do not build me a new stadium with a lot of corporate suites ( you do not share that revenue with the visiting team ) that no ordinary fan could afford, I will move the team."
