08:18 AM ET 05.05 | The Yankees are still, to some degree, unsure of what happened to Phil Hughes' velocity. But they now expect Hughes back within two months, and they're hopeful that a recent cortisone shot and a little more rest will be enough to get their young starter right again. "Clearly, we're in a better position today than we were in St. Louis, where we were worrying about potentially losing him for the year," Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said in a conference call with reporters on Wednesday. "I still have hope that we're going to get this guy back and he's going to help us. But I can't tell you that we're out of the woods yet, either." Here's what Cashman knows: Hughes articulated to doctors that he felt better after receiving a cortisone shot on April 28, and the plan now is for the right-hander to rest for two weeks -- receiving physical therapy while doing some conditioning work in the meantime -- and then start throwing again.

Hello Cat.

Jeter? Did somebody say Jeter? I hear he's struggling. It's funny how if he was fortunate enough to have only six more hits he'd be a .300 hitter.
