09:02 AM ET 05.07 | When the Arizona Cardinals didn't select a quarterback in the NFL draft last weekend, it signaled to the rest of the league that they want to land a veteran signal-caller when a labor agreement is reached and free agency begins. According to KHTK-TV in Phoenix, the Cardinals have targeted Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton. The Cardinals and Broncos haven't had serious discussions, according to the source, because Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb is still No. 1 on the Cardinals' wish list. The Broncos believe the Cardinals are interested in Orton as their "Plan B" in case a deal for Kolb cannot be completed.

I thought Elway wasn"t sold on Tebow, Why trade Orton then?

I'd rather the Cards get Bulger than Orton.

May 7, 2011  09:20 AM ET

They could do worse than Orton.

Maybe this move will finally give us the real end game we are all awaiting...

And got it.

I feel bad for Orton. He's a better QB than about half the starters in the league, but he gets no respect. I'd like to see him go to a decent team and see what he can do.

This rumor might be coming out of the Cardinals. Trying to drive down the price for Kolb.
