Number's up for Seattle right tackle

08:02 AM ET 05.09 | The Seahawks, apparently, aren't into subtle messages with Sean Locklear. Word out of Seattle is that free-agent O-linemen Locklear and Chris Spencer have, in effect, been told to look elsewhere. First-round draft pick James Carpenter, who already has been handed the starting right tackle role that Locklear filled the majority of last season, apparently has been given Locklear's number (No. 75). Spencer, a former first-round draft pick who has had as many downs as ups as the team's starting center, has been replaced by third-year pro Max Unger, who suffered a season-ending toe injury in Week 1 last season as the starting right guard.

How about some actual lockout news?

I wouldn't look for anything from them this next season.

Indeed.

Sounds like Pete is kicking out the garbage...

Cut Carroll some slack. He didn't have a salary cap at U$C. He has some ground to make up.

Is Max Unger related to Felix?

May 9, 2011  09:39 AM ET

I thought they couldn't talk to the players? Is this kind of non-verbal communication (giving someone else his number, raising the middle finger while keeping the other fingers clenched, etc.) allowed?

No, but he is still an Oddfellow

@ Otis: ... and there's still a lot of work to do

He's been kicking out the garbage ever since he got there.
I'm MORE than happy to see Locklear head on down the road, as are most Seahawks fans. He sucks. He's one of the reasons Seattle OL blows - He's also partly responsible for Hass being gun-shy these days - he sucks, but it's really hard to find OL any better, that's not already under contract

Looks like they retitled and rewrote this... didn't help this story
