Bulls getting heavy on Rose's back

08:07 AM ET 05.10 | Is it possible that an MVP can do too much? Derrick Rose took 32 shots Sunday, making just 12 en route to his 34 points. That's only five more shots than he took while scoring a career-high 44 points in Game 3, a performance most observers lionized. Coach Tom Thibodeau pointed out that hypocrisy when asked about Rose's shot output following Game 4. ... Indeed, Thibodeau bemoaned Rose's lack of foul calls, which would've of course lowered his field-goal attempts. Carlos Boozer, who finally got it going offensively, attempted just one shot in more than seven minutes of fourth-quarter action. ESPN Stats and Information released this intriguing statistic: On 25 possessions, Rose never passed after crossing half court or receiving an inbounds pass. On those, Rose shot 7-for-22 and drew three fouls, scoring 21 points.

When you're the MVP, what do you expect?

You're going to wear down, Bro.

This summer bulls have to sign another three point shooter. That is all they are lacking. They need one to start and one to come off the bench. Some candidates are: Anthony Parker,Delonte West,Peja,Kapono,Steve Novak,J.R Smith,Battier,Michael Redd,Vuajcic,Shawne Williams.

Battier

The Kid is only 22 years old and has a chance to carry this team to the finals. He's not backing down thats for sure. The Bulls just need one other guy to step up to win games. Boozer, Deng, Korver, anybody. They can win any game if one other guy steps up and carries some of the scoring load. Thier defense keeps the games in striking distance and Rose is one of the best closers.

Boozer... he needs to start playing like the #2 option he was signed to be.

why would you go after someone like kapono if you already have korver?

what they really need is a legit starting 2.

QUOTE(#14):

You're not doing the team any favors by imitating Jordan's selfishness, bro.

I don't see where he's being selfish when he's 3rd in assists in the the playoffs. He's averaging more assists in the playoffs than Jason Kidd. It's kind of hard when he passes the ball some someone and they just give it back to him and say, "WHAT SHOULD I DO. YOU SHOOT IT"!

May 10, 2011  10:38 AM ET

Noone is questioning his skill set, but his approach is a recipe for disaster. Soon teams will face the Bulls the same way they did with Michael in the early years--where Jordan scored 40, and the Bulls would lose by 10. Both Rose and Westbrook shoot entirely too much.

Boozer is showing precisely why Miami passed on him and took Bosh instead.

The Bulls are going to need more than Rose to take down a title...

Good luck with that.

Yup... bit of a stretch right there.

The Bulls need a #2 guard that can create his own shot. The bulls have 1 guy, Rose, that can create his own shot any time. All of the other players need to be set up for their shot. In the playoffs, the Bulls are running more half court offense, so creating your own shot is a must.
