08:00 AM ET 05.11 | Even if Steve Smith didn't clear up his future with the Panthers, he did have an interesting take on putting his house on the market. On whether his house being on the market means he wants out of Carolina: "I think it's important that people realize I am not packing my bags. As far as why my house is for sale, we built this huge house and we just don't have any business living in it. It seemed like a great idea, and then we moved into this big house. ... For me, it was a little bit vain that I have this big house with this big yard. People saw my house was on sale and said it was me sending a message. Really the message I sent was to my kids: Dad made a mistake. This isn't how we are supposed to live."

A likely story!

Smitty keeps changing his story like a 1st grader does with his teacher.

With back pedalling skills like that, Smith can move to DB and extend his career a couple more seasons.

He hurts more of his own CBs in practice than he does on the field anymore.

A receiver isn't much good without someone to get him the ball. Would Fred Biletnikoff be in the HOF if his QB had been JaMarcus Russel?

The quality control checks at Trojan weren't what they are now. We didn't have ISO 9000 standards.

I hate big houses too. Having 8 bedrooms for my 8 female slaves would just be a burden.
