Budaj done in Denver

08:19 AM ET 05.13 | Peter Budaj, who was engaged in a number of goaltending challenges in Denver, may have played his last game in the Mile High City. At this stage, the Avs are prepared to move on from the goalie, who has been with the team since 2005. His contract is up, and there is no plan to re-sign him. Win or lose, Budaj was an accountable goalie who was/is a good person. His game just never progressed to a top-flight level. I believe the Avs' plan for goaltender is to make an offer to some unrestricted free agent July 1, and if that doesn't pan out, make a trade of some kind.

LOL. Chapter 2 for every goalie story for the rest of the off-season.

This guy should be going to the KHL instead of Bryz

The Avs haves more problems than their backup goalie not pulling his weight. They need to put together a playoff team for next season or add their organization to the list of teams that need relocating.

They need a starting goalie, an effective veteran d-man to mentor their young d, and a top 6 forward with leadership skills as well. Plus Fleischman to be able to play with his blood clot issues. I guess they've gotta start somewhere, but worrying about Budaj's situation should be way down their list of priorities.

Now that's funny I don't care where you're from.

Remember him playing for Hershey. He was good, but I was surprised when I saw him playing for the Avs. He had a decent run, maybe he could find some eastern temples and do some modeling.

I cant believe they traded Anderson away..he's now flourishing in Ottawa.

No no no, the Hershey Bears. He actually played a few years in the AHL before being called up by the Avs. Like I said, he was a decent goalie with flashes of brilliance but he could also go several games being very mediocre.
