Starling ahead of Martinez?

08:15 AM ET 05.13 | Nebraska football may just have the clubhouse lead as it relates to Bubba Starling's decision. Coach Bo Pelini appears to have managed the transition between old offensive coordinator Shawn Watson and new one Tim Beck as smoothly as possible. Beck's simplified attack probably fits Starling's talents just as much as Watson's hybrid West Coast/spread offense. And probably better. On sheer athleticism, you could see Bubba posing a sincere challenge to Taylor Martinez, Cody Green and Brion Carnes for the starting job. Although he's thin -- the kid could carry an extra 20 pounds of muscle on his 6-foot-5 frame, easy -- he's taller than any of them, and just as fast. Including Martinez? Including Martinez.

I'd be shocked if this kid ever plays college football. The money he will be offered after being one of the top picks in the MLB Draft, will be tough to turn down........
