08:06 AM ET 05.13 | Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw may coach in the Golden State, after all. Shaw, who has become a hot candidate for a few head-coaching vacancies in the NBA, including his current team, has gotten the OK from management to interview for the Golden State Warriors head coach opening. "Yes, we have been given permission," Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said in a text message Thursday. He said the Lakers also gave assistant coach Chuck Person permission to talk to the Warriors. Shaw, a candidate to replace Phil Jackson with the Lakers, also had been given permission to interview for the opening with the Houston Rockets.

But he was the anointed one!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Might as well go for Flip Saunders lol

I don't really like Shaw, never did, but he is being hosed.

Adelman??? Really?

Shaw needs to leave L.A. and watch them burn. Sign with G.S. and beat the Lakers every time you play them.

Of course the Lakers want Shaw to be the next Lakers coach... but lets just wait and see what everyone else thinks he's worth... no sense rushing into things.

What's wrong with interviewing for a better position?? His Boss gave him the OK.

The Lakers are BSing around. Shaw is not getting the job and he knows it. Why would he interview for the job elsewhere. Just like Brian Scott new too. The Logo is going to select someone else, but who?

I can't tell you who, but I can guarantee you two who it won't be. Mike Brown, or Doc Rivers (should he become available).

Scott is staying in CLE, he loves it here. Doc is either staying in Boston or about to take a vacation or something. Does not make sense for him to leave Boston and coach the Lakers. Mike Brown would be good but Lakers will not get him. Besides pending the outcome of the ECF, he might also take his talents there too.

Man... Doc, I read your post last night where you used the word "obtuseness". I was very impressed!
