Broncos talking up Quinn to trade Orton?

09:08 AM ET 05.15 | Kyle Orton still could be playing for a team other than the Broncos next season. Some people around the league think the reason the Broncos are talking up Brady Quinn is they have hopes of dealing Orton. But the longer the lockout goes, the less likely a deal becomes because the veteran Orton is the quarterback who is most prepared to play this season. Orton should be a fairly hot commodity on the trade market.

With all the teams looking for veteran QBs a hot commodity indeed, If the broncos are really serious about dealing him.

I agree.

Mormin Melman .... They also have Tebow

Talking up Brady Quinn? I'm a huge ND fan and I loved what Quinn did for the Irish, but as a pro, he's been a bust. I've seen him throw and he can't hit the broad side of a barn. He also gets really happy feet when he's under pressure. I hate to say it, but if Quinn's your back up, you better pray your starter stays healthy.

Like I've said before BQ is the opposite of QB.

If Orton hits the trade market he'll be coveted by many teams. Just like Kolb. HAHAHAHAHA. Kolb..HAHAHAHA.

Mornin' Mangler...

They do have Tebow, and I wish Denver would make some effort to see what his potential is before they start trying to convince themselves that Brady Quinn has any type of upside as a pro... pretty much for the reasons Stu mentioned.

Orton can and will do better...

It seems Elway is not a Tebow fan, for whatever reason. He may not get a chance to show what his potential is.We shall see if there is a season. I agree Quinn is not the answer.

Closing in on 5000 Melman.

Yeah, I think there is more upside to tebow than Quinn. Say what you want about mcdaniels, but he does understand qb's. I think tebow needs a chance to play a season. Judge him then.

Kyle Orton = Trent Dilfer without the SB ring.

May 15, 2011  10:57 AM ET

I'm not sure I see the logic of many teams 'looking for veteran QB's' and the Broncos trading Orton which would leave them....you know....looking for a veteran QB. Even if this Tebone kid turns into something special like a Richard Todd or David Woodley or something, its going to take a year or two and you'll want more than the towelboy as his backup.

May 15, 2011  11:09 AM ET

Maybe Elway wants a Stanford man like himself as starting QB.

Starting BQ 16? times this season is a sure way to get Andrew Luck in next years draft. Meanwhile, he might get a second first round pick for Orton. I'm not sure what that would mean for St.Tim.
