09:14 AM ET 05.15 | NFL Network's Charley Casserly, a two-time Super Bowl-champion general manager, believes that with the NFL Draft now in the rear-view mirror Kevin Kolb's trade value has only increased. Casserly believes the Eagles should receive more than a first-round pick for the veteran quarterback. Casserly's reasoning is simple. "If you don't have (a quarterback), you can't play," he said.

Wow, Casserly is brilliant. Actually its not rocket science. Kolb is already going to Arizona. The framework of a deal has been worked out.

I kind of felt like Kevin Kolb's trade value decreased after the Draft, considering almost every QB-needy team drafted a quarterback.

When the Titans, Redskins, and Vikings are all going after a guy Arizona really wants... it's bound to be payday in Philly.
It doesn't matter what Reid gets out of Kolb. He's just going to blow it on a DE/DT bust anyway.

If the Iggles trade Kolb (which they will regret as soon as Vick is injured) they will get a one at least. Maybe a one and a three.
The price is set and there is precedent. Casserly is dead on.

I agree the Eagles need a dependable back-up for Michael Vick.
But they're also guaranteed to lose Kevin Kolb to free agency after the 2011 season. So they either part ways with Kolb now and get something in return, or lose him a year later with nothing to show for it.
If someone is willing to trade a 1st round pick, I say make the trade.

The true conundrum for Iggles fans... and I think you are right.
The reality is that if a bidding war gets brewing (and there are signs of it) you guys are gonna get a whole lot more than a one & a three.
