09:23 AM ET 05.15 | Former NCAA COI chairman & current Lightfoot, Franklin & White attorney Gene Marsh will represent Jim Tressel in forthcoming NCAA hearing. But nothing indicates quitting is part of Tressel's thinking right now. And Gene Marsh, the former chairman of the NCAA Committee on Infractions who has been retained by Tressel in recent weeks, agreed with that sentiment in a brief interview with The Plain Dealer on Friday. According to conversations with others in the past week, Tressel's intentions, like it or not, are to stay with his players and continue what he sees as his mission at Ohio State.

He may not have it written down but I think his actions have shown the true character of his mission.

I have said it a hundred times, he will be offered up at the appropriate time in exchange for bowl games and scholly limits. Its just that we aren't to that point yet. Jim Tressel will not coach an Ohio State football game ever again.

BB, so you are assuming the NCAA will act before the beginning of the '11 season?

The date is August 12th, that's when they will have their meeting in Columbus. Gene Smith and Jim Delaney will get a deal cut with NCAA. There is no way Ohio St is gonna take the post season hit for Vest. Delaney and Smith will offer him up in exchange for keeping the post season.
He's gone.
