Sixers should be shopping Iguodala

08:10 AM ET 05.16 | Dealing Andre Iguodala may be the shortest distance to Philadelphia landing a need. Iguodala is the best -- and perhaps only -- way for the Sixers to acquire the physical center or 20-point scorer they need. ... Teams would surely covet 20-year-old point guard Jrue Holiday. The Sixers don't want to move Holiday because he is a core player with significant upside. The No. 16 pick in the June 23 draft is unlikely to yield an immediate impact player, let alone a reliable scorer or center. Iguodala is one of the best wing defenders in the league. He's athletic, finishes on the break, is a good decision-maker and handles the ball well enough to play point forward, which he sometimes does with the Sixers. And he's only 27.

Don't know that he can bring what the Sixers need... so don't see a trade in the works.

You saying you couldnt see a Kaman for Iggy trade? I mean the Clippers have the perfect compliment for Griffin in Jordan....So I think Kaman will be on the move....

QUOTE(#4):

He makes alot of $ , but he still has value. His contract is big, but its not like he's 36 and can't walk. He's in his prime, is a good all around layer, and n the right team AS that complimentary 3rd guy, he would be even more valuable

I really think he is one of the better one on one defenders in the league....

I just dont see how some might not see that is a trade that will make BOTH teams better....

May 16, 2011  08:57 AM ET

So Kaman and Gomes for Iggy and Speights....

QUOTE(#16):

The thing with the sixers......s that they are alot like indy. Both teams have drafted some decent young prospects. The big question is will the prospects develop any further .....cause other than their kids getting better, there's no other way these teams take the next step

The day care approach to building a team does NOT work. Ask the C's fans...

Fans don't want to wait and watch while these kids take a few years to learn how to play the game of basketball at their expense. The other downside to that approach is the young guys finally start to contribute just about the time their first contracts are up and they take the money and run to the first team that waves money at them.

i mean he's "alright" if you have a star PG who can set him up and throw up lob passes so he can finish. in other words he would flourish with either new jersey or new orleans
