08:15 AM ET 05.17 | Tony La Russa made a late edit to his lineup card, moving Lance Berkman to first base. Albert Pujols moved back to his old home across the diamond for a day, and he looked as though he'd never left. About two hours prior to the Cardinals' game against the Phillies on Monday night, the Redbirds announced that Pujols would start at third base, rather than at first, where he has played almost exclusively for the past seven-plus seasons. Pujols last started at third base on Sept. 23, 2002. ... Pujols had five chances and handled them smoothly. He made one rather slick play on a Ben Francisco grounder in the seventh and started a double play. He won't play at third again on Tuesday, manager Tony La Russa said, but it may not be the last time he appears there.

If he can do the job there on a part time basis, why not take advantage of it?

Berkman's just on a hot streak. He'll cool off and be apart timer by the All Star break.

Albert at 3rd is a great idea...it moves Berkman over to 1st and gets Jon Jay into the lineup.

I like that part of it......as long as Albert's elbow doesn't flare up from making the long throws at third.

QUOTE(#18):

If you think Cliff Lee hands out 6+ walks/game on a constant basis you're nuts. The Cards won a CLOSE game because a stud pitcher was WAY off last night.............

Last year he walked 1 batter every 9+ innings. What happened?

QUOTE(#9):

i think he meant it more as a joke and not a direct attack on Pujols. And I agree with you...he hasnt been named so he's clean until proven otherwise.

Albert is as adamant about not using steroids as Big Papi was.
