08:08 AM ET 05.18 | Currently on vacation, Sidney Crosby will reportedly meet with his concussion specialist, Dr. Michael Collins, before the end of the month. Assuming he sticks to his plan to be back in town by then, that is. Ray Shero said Crosby "has been on vacation for a couple of weeks," apparently including a trip with some teammates to the Cannes Film Festival in France. Crosby, who didn't play after Jan. 5 because of a concussion, had been participating in some no-contact practices and game-day skates during the Penguins' first-round playoff series last month against Tampa Bay. He was, however, advised at one point by Collins to stay off skates for about a week. They were supposed to meet and evaluate Crosby's workout regimen April 28, but the Penguins season ended April 27, eliminating any need for that session.

Apparently that's the only picture of Sid currently in existence.

The Cannes festival? I've seen the list of movies they'll show there. Some of them might actually make his head hurt more than a concussion.

Also, he should stay in the south of France till the Grand Prix of Monaco.

He hasn't seen a specialist yet? WTF?

Cannes? If i was an NHL player on break id be looking at cans allright. On a Jamaican beach.

Crosby is loaded, why work another day? Just stay in the South of France for the rest of your life. Never have to worry about another concussion, just relax all day in a beautiful place for the rest of your life.

Not that there's anything wrong with it.

How can he eventually play for the Leafs if he retires.

You cannot be more right !

Only so many comments you can make about the concussion. I'd take a beach in Bermuda, but small difference.

I guess that is why Kris Letang and Fleury rejected Team Canada's invite?

Oh, it will just be a hoax so he gets out of his contract. Then after a year of resting and getting over his concussion, he returns to the NHL with the defending champs, the Leafs!

I guess the interns don't follow the expiration dates.

H.e can do that in Pittsburgh

I don't think that he is coming back and who could blame him. He is a huge personality in Canada and could make millions without playing. Why risk brain injuries and possibly end up like Mohammed Ali or for those old enough to remember Jerry Quarry and his brother Mike.

Read the article. The specialist has been examining him over the course of the regular season and playoffs. Crosby is going to meet with him for a follow-up visit.

Dr. Michael Collins. Wow - he goes from fighting for Irish independence to becoming a concussion specialist! Pretty impressive.
