08:03 AM ET 05.18 | Mark Gottfried has earned a big win at N.C. State. The first day Gottfried was allowed to talk to recruits, he called Raleigh Word of God's Torian Graham. The timing of the call in early April made a big impression on Graham, one of the top recruits in the country who made a verbal commitment to the Wolfpack on Monday. "He told me I was their top priority," Graham said. "That meant a lot to me." ... Gottfried made his mark at Alabama as a top recruiter landing future NBA stars Mo Williams and Gerald Wallace. Graham said he felt comfortable right away with Gottfried. "He's like a brother and a coach," Graham said. "We were on the same page." Miami, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Georgetown and Rutgers were among the schools in pursuit of Graham.

So, they got a guy that Duke and UNC didn't recruit. Nice pull.

Haters, haters!! It looks like we may have gotten the best coach out of all these changes. The 'Pack will be back in a few years. We're getting ready to clean up in NC with Rodney Purvis and TJ Warren. With this class, we'll back in the mix. By the way, haters, third place in the ACC may still get you a national championship since 1 and 2 are Carolina and Duke. I'll take third for now. Go 'Pack!!

I knew Purvis de-commited from Louisville, but haven't seen in the N&O that he had commited to the Pack...Don't count your chickens too quickly.

Also I thought that Harrow, Brown, and Leslie were supposed to come in as Freshman and put yall back in the Mix.

Typical UNC and Duke fans with the immediate reaction of "Well we didn't want him anyways". I'm sure you guys would have just absolutely dreaded having him on your team. Please. Can't you just objectively admit that he is a good player? I'm a die hard State fan but I look at all recruits the same. Even if a guy is committed to UNC or Duke if I watch him play and think he is good, I say he is good. Any reasonable and intelligent UNC or Duke fan would know that having NC State competitive again is good for all three schools and good for the ACC.
