08:05 AM ET 05.19 | After scoring more points than anyone, playing in 19 All-Star Games, winning six pro titles and three NCAA titles, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is among the most accomplished athletes of any generation. But for all of Abdul-Jabbar's influence, for all of his accomplishments, the man feels "slighted" by the Lakers organization, as he explains in a six-page interview in the magazine. Why? There are multiple reasons -- and we're not going to spoil all the goods here -- but one of them has to do with the statues that have been erected outside Staples Center. There are five of them: Magic Johnson, Jerry West, Chick Hearn, Wayne Gretzky and Oscar De La Hoya. Notice who's not on that list?

It is a little weird that KAJ doesnt seem to have a more visble role, fnot only on the lakers....but in the nba in general. The nba rolls bill russell out all the time, yet KAJ has to be interviewed by some ham & egger blogger to get exposurr

Ive always heard he wasnt a real likable guy when he played and has a aura of attitude about him....I dont know for a fact but that is what ive taken away from things ive read about him....

Where is your statue in Milwaukee....

May 19, 2011  08:50 AM ET

Gone are the days of just getting your number retired and your jersey in the rafters hanging over the arenas. Now a days, they want more, statues of themselves for all to see.

The new Jordan rules lol

He played in two places.... but he should get a statue anyway because he's awesome....

from day one in Milwaukee as a rookie, KAJ had a problem dealing with people ....

but, I listened to the Video of the reporter talk about KAJ issues with the Lakers ... mainly working one on one with Andrew Bynum, and not get his DUE or a Playoff Share ..

Wait your turn, Bro.
