08:18 AM ET 05.20 | So much for being happy that you've been drafted. Prep right-hander Dylan Bundy, perhaps the top talent in one of the most loaded Major League Baseball drafts in years, has informed several teams not to select him because of fears they'll try to change his throwing program, a source close to Bundy told Yahoo! Sports. And he's not the only one. UCLA starter Trevor Bauer, also a potential top-five pick, shares Bundy's concern about teams' reticence to allow long-toss sessions in which pitchers throw the ball on an arc up to 300 feet in order to build up arm strength, according to another source. ... Bundy told the Pittsburgh Pirates, who own the No. 1 pick, and the Kansas City Royals, who pick fifth, that he'd prefer they not use their pick on him, according to the source.

Oh really??? I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Bucs and Royals being at the bottom of the heap the last couple decades.

Exactly, just be honest why you don't wanna go there kids... But also remember just be happy you get picked by someone, hell 90% of you picks aren't gonna work out anyways, so don't think to highly of yourselves.

Someone needs tyo explain to those kids that they have a much better chance of getting a shot in the show with a cellar dwellar than they do with a top team. Look at the Phillies. How'd you like to be a starting pitcher in AAA for them? You already know that no matter what you do, you aren't getting called up unless someone gets hurt.

Sometimes your the hammer, usually you are the nail.
The kid can play it any way he wants, and if some team does not like it? Then move on. He can use the hammer if he has it, cause once he signs he is the nail.

If they get drafted by the bigger and better teams (yanks, phil, sox), they will just be traded to one of the smaller market teams anyway. They need to shut the ____ up and be happy that they get the money.

Happens all the time in baseball. Kids go to college and stay for as little or as long as they want and check which way the wind is blowing...... Nothing new here. Nothing at all.

BS. Supply and demand. It is the kids call at this point. And it should be. He is being honest and upfront. He could just let some team waste a high draft pick and not sign and go to school for a year.
I give him credit for honesty.. MLB teams cannot even agree on what is best for pitchers. At lest this kid has a plan and wants to stick to it.

No team should draft these kids. Let them go work at factory for a couple of years and see how the like those apple.

Historically, I'd agree with you. However, I've seen a fair amount of signs that indicate that the new ownership in Pittsburgh is committed to changing their fortunes. That's not to say that they have the know how, or that they'll continue -- I'd like to see them comit an extension to a young, promising player to build around -- but with what I've seen, I'm content to give Nutting the benefit of the doubt as he tries to reshape the franchise.

The five man rotation alone rules out the possibility of a 300 inning pitcher. Even if a starter pitched a complete game in every start, that'd be roughly 290 innings.
It's a different game these days.

While I disagree with trying to pick the team that picks you,(they should be happy they are lucky enough to get where you are right now) this is the is the best time in the next 4 years to try this since there is some leverage on the team, just like a normal job.

Yep...if I had the chance to get drafted and make millions, I'd say "thank you, sir, see you in a few days, sir, you won't regret picking me, sir, I'm going to help you become a winner, sir."
