08:14 AM ET 05.21 | As the Plaxico Burress rumor mill churns leading up to his June 6 release from prison, it's anyone's guess as to where he'll land in the NFL. A return to the Giants is believed to be possible, but one person with some insight -- starting LT David Diehl -- doesn't see the 33-year-old receiver coming back. However, it's not for the reasons you might expect. "I would like to say yes," Diehl said Friday when asked about a possible Burress return. "He's had a lot of success for us as a player. But, if I were Plaxico, I would say no. With everything that happened (pleading guilty in 2009 to attempted criminal possession of a weapon), Plaxico has taken a lot of heat, not only through the media. -- I think about Michael Vick's situation. He went into a new situation, a new city, where he could almost start fresh with new teammates and go back to basics."

The guy has been away from the game for two years. Does anyone know if he even stayed in shape while imprisoned? This is a big, big gamble.

He's probably more pumped now than when he went in.

Does anyone need a 33yr old receiver?Maybe Burress and Moss can package themselves as a dual threat who can stretch the field.

Diehl's probably right - the media circus would almost certainly be too much to bear.

Plax has been eating prison food for a while now. He'd be less likely to be critical of any caterers.

No kidding. The NY media would be hounding the guy, just waiting for him to slip up.

He may go into withdrawal and feel the need to shoot himself in the other leg... to even it out.

The media keeps trying to sell the similarity of Plaxico Burress's return to Michael Vick's return.

But what they never seem to mention is the fact that Vick returned to the NFL at age 29. Which is a lot different than returning to the NFL at the brink of retirement.

They will definitely be watching. Just as Vick can't own a dog Burress can't own a gun.

I think there are a lot of teams just hoping to get a chance to sign him.
We shall see, but he is high on a lot of teams list.

Think he can help a team with a young QB or will he be a detriment to their development.
