Earnhardt, Hendrick discuss extension

I go back to when Jr. announced he was coming to Hendrick. He called it like going to a family. Hendrick takes care of his people and Jr. likes that. Looking back at his later years at DEI, there wasn't any evidence of a "family" or people really looking out for each other. He gets that at Hendrick. Despite not having wins on the track, Jr. and Hendrick still are a good combination for each other.

Jr is only staying at Hendrick because of his off the track sales and sponsorships...

On the track, he has been terrible and warrants no reason to be kept...that, and the fact that there is not much else out there is why.

This season he finally has shown some fire and maybe it was Jeff's old Crew Chief who he needed...

according to the know it alls around here, it was ALWAYS jr's fault, and not the crew chiefs..

Jr is popular for many reasons......only a very small one has to do with his last name.......lots of fans can identify with his struggles........he is trying to overcome his challenges, the biggest one being endlessly compared to his more successful dad......he wants to be a racing success on his own terms...there is no other driver out there that has the last name pressure like he does.......But Jr is a success in my eyes......he is doing better this year, he is accumulating more wealth every year.....he is a clean racer.....he does many charity donations and events....... he represents the sport in every way, except for recent wins....(JJ has that part covered).
I am more confident that he will get his win or two this year.
Bottom line: if I was a team owner...I would never let him go elsewhere.

Well, he's no phoney, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in old #3 again.

hendricks is smart...he has the Most Popular Driver, the Most Championship Driver (recently), the Most Respected Driver and Jeff who has some of all those 3 "mosts".

the delete patrol had a ball this weekend-----------they usually are asleep all weekend---------looks like they hired a hall monitor---------very good
