NCAA on Cleveland bid: Don't bother

08:24 AM ET 05.23 | File this under unrequited love. Cleveland was preparing a pitch for the Big Ten, all the reasons the conference should consider the city as a host for future Big Ten football championship games. And then -- according to David Gilbert, the president of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission -- about two months ago, the Big Ten said not to bother. At the Big Ten meetings in Chicago this week, groups from Chicago and Indianapolis made presentations to league athletic directors to host the league's football and men's and women's basketball championships in the future. They were the only cities invited and the only cities the Big Ten is considering. For now. "We were very disappointed," Gilbert said Friday.

Didn't they run this article, or something REALLY similar over the weekend?

Oh, I see now.

They ran the earlier article with a pic of the Clevelend stadium. Guessing they saw that it only got a few comments, so they figured they'd run it again but this time with a pic of JT to spice things up.

Expect several hundred comments today.

I never thought I'd ever see someone write that thought.

Agree Tressel and Spicy don't seem to go together. But, tt's early, GR hasn't gotten the weekend cobwebs shaken off yet!

Okay all you Big10+1+1 folks. Do you prefer playing/watching the CCG game in a dome or see some real Big 10+1+1 football played outdoors in real crappy weather?

Which would be more fitting for Legends and Leaders? ...or Leotards and Leggings?

Heck, are you kidding? The FN interns have seen how the tOSU threads have a gazillion comments.

They know how to stir up the peeps -- and that's probably what beefs up their paychecks.

Why? Cleveland Rocks! The song even says so.

Outdoors ONLY for those people. Otherwise, I'm gonna call hypocrite on the whole crew, cuz all us southern team fans hear nothing but "come play us up here in December, you wusses".

If they go indoors on this, time to toss that old argument in the dumpster.

Yeah, I've always wondered if it is so good to play outdoors up north later in the season, then why don't we have all the bowl games up there in December and January!

I refuse to post on this thread because of the deceiving use of Jim Tressel's picture.

The mods are really slippin just swapping pictures and re-running threads. I mean come on it doesn't take much to get us going. Use a little imagination.

Just create a headline with Saban or Tressel in it and pick a verb, preferably an action verb like "refuting" or "denying" then choose an object like "NCAA" or "allegations" and we can take it from there.
Jeesh, do I have to do everything for you lazy people?

I'm starting to recycly my posts.

Red sweater vest and spice - mods are messing with the fragile psychotropic state of the readership!
