08:03 AM ET 05.24 | Count Eli Manning among those ready to welcome Plaxico Burress back to the NFL -- and, possibly, the Giants. "Obviously he's served his time, plus some," Manning said Monday night at a Guiding Eyes For The Blind charity event in White Plains. Burress is scheduled to be released from prison June 6. ... Manning did not rule out the possibility of Burress, who caught the winning touchdown pass from Manning in the Giants' 17-14 win over the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, returning to the Giants following his release. "I'm excited that he's getting out, and if the Giants or another team give him a shot, I'll look forward to getting him back into football," Manning said.

Plaxico isn't going back to NY. They gave him the boot. Once again he should give them that special finger while going to another team.

Burrress was an incorrigible discipline problem, and Tom Coughlin is the consummate disciplinarian. Not a good mix. Eli is not enough of a leader to keep Burress in line. I still say he goes to the Pats.

Plax should be motivated, and whomever takes a chance on him will probably get get his services for cheap. I could see the J-E-T-S taking the chance on him.

Read somewhere that Plax doesn't want to play in New York, either team. Guess he has plans on carrying another weapon in his sweatpants and doesn't like the penalty.

I agree. But I also think his best bet is a one-year contract with a pass-oriented team that has a good QB, so he can put up big numbers and either get an extension or a good contract with another team. A number of those teams already addressed their WR needs in the draft, so there are not a lot of matches left. Pats and Rams.
