08:09 AM ET 05.25 | Daisuke Matsuzaka may yet require Tommy John surgery, which would thereby conclude a very expensive headache of an era. Among his shoulder, elbow and forearm, he's faced problems with every part of his arm. The only thing left is his hand, and as many times as he's raised a figurative middle finger at the organization, it's a shock he hasn't hurt that, too. Matsuzaka's tack with the Red Sox, according to sources inside and outside the organization, has been simple: ignore what they want and do what he wants. ... Should he need Tommy John, Matsuzaka likely never would wear a Red Sox uniform again.

No sweat, every club makes mistakes. Just move on and find a suitable 5th starter.

Wow! What an expensive, total and complete mistake this guy was.

True, but he was a big part of a World Championship team in 2007. So it wasn't a total waste.

Yup, despite the rantings from the fans of other teams, Boston was not the only club to bid on his services.

If it were only that easy!

Replacing his "statistics" shouldn't be all that difficult. Replacing his attitude with a better one should be a piece of cake.

I wasn't aware that there was a Dice-K era. I thought it was the Josh Beckett era

He started out well enough but was never the same after he was over used in the World Baseball Classic. It's a shame because he has the stuff to pitch well but is so inconsistant.

Good morning everyone.

Suckiosity. Nice word!

I still believe, if the Yankees knew the Sox bid was $51M, they would have gone to 52.

Unfortunately for the Red Sox Dice-K had Boras as an agent so he was really over hyped.
